Jack and Millie Butler founded Butler Gas Products Company in western Pennsylvania in 1948. Jack was responsible for sales and purchasing, and Millie managed the books. They hired one employee- a driver to make deliveries.
Seventy-five years later, Butler Gas is in its third generation of family operation and ownership with the most packaged gas capabilities of any company in its region. Jack and Millie’s son, Jack, leads as Chairman. Their daughter-in-law, Elissa, is Treasurer, and their granddaughter, Abydee, serves as President and CEO.
Butler Gas begins 2023 with operations across two states and regional trucking throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, New York, and Maryland. Its capabilities are that of a large organization: acetylene manufacturing, hydrogen and helium filling, tube trailers, accredited specialty gas production, medical oxygen filling, industrial gas fill plant automation, bulk supply in Argon, Carbon Dioxide, Nitrogen, and Oxygen.
The philosophy is that of an agile small business with passionate tenured experts, nurtured rising talent, easy access to decision-makers, and heavy service customization. Believing customers do not have to sacrifice service for capabilities, Butler Gas is committed to being the region’s best gas manufacturer and distributor.
